Reilly Elementary Receives Highest T.E.A. Rating and Maximum Number of Distinctions!
Posted on Oct 2nd, 2014
From Dan Micchiche, DISD Trustee for District 3:
"Here’s a little more context on the truly extraordinary performance of Martha Turner Reilly Elementary School on the recently released Texas Education Agency Accountability Ratings:
There are 150 Elementary Schools in DISD. Reilly was one of six DISD elementary schools to have received the highest rating (“met standard” and the maximum number of distinctions). This achievement is much more significant than obtaining the highest rating of “exemplary” status under the old TEA rating system that was used for many years because there are a lot more categories under the new system and fewer schools receive the very highest rating. For example, under the old rating system, 18 DISD elementary schools and all four Highland Park elementary schools attained the top rating in 2011. Under the current accountability rating system, six DISD elementary schools (including Reilly and Hexter) and zero Highland Park elementary schools attained the highest rating. I will be the first to tell you that TEA accountability ratings don’t mean everything, but I am so proud of our students, our great teachers, Principal Jackson, and Executive Director Healey and the great community support that has made Martha Turner Reilly Elementary School one of the best in North Texas."
